Here is the information that I provided to Vancity for their election material
Candidate Statement:
Change is inevitable, in both life and business. In order to be successful, we all must embrace change. Vancity is no different.
Technology supports change. As Vancity is embarking on significant projects to upgrade its systems and processes, the Board of Directors must provide technical and fiscal oversight to ensure that the selected systems maximize value to members.
I have been involved in Information Technology since the mid 1980’s, when I wrote programs on UBC’s mainframe computer using punch cards. For over 25 years, I have been involved in all aspects of using technology to improve business processes for both large enterprises and small businesses. I believe that my in-depth knowledge of technology will be an invaluable asset to the Vancity Board, to ensure that changes to systems and processes maximize shareholder value while strengthening Vancity’s role in building our communities.
